Gunair Aviation

Our core business is aircraft modifications and support equipment.  We develop Aviation related STCs and Patents for both Airplanes and Helicopters. 

We are also a low volume, high quality aircraft rebuild and repair facility.  We are not on an airport.  The kind of work we do does not require a lot of runway.  We specialize in "Bush Flying" type airplanes and helicopters.  We love the backcountry type of flying and the aircraft that are suitable for this kind of flying. We have been in the aircraft maintenance, flying, rebuilding and crash retrieval sector of the aviation field for around 40 years.  We go to great lengths to avoid further damage to your aircraft during the retrieval process.

Who We Are

Sam Gunter

Sam has owned several businesses before we started Gunair Aviation.  His first taste of aviation was a trip to Alaska to visit his brother Ed.  Within a few days this 18 year old kid found himself in the middle of the Alaska bush rigging a PA-18 to sling out from the base of a glacier.  Luckily Mom could not see what the older brother had gotten him into.  Sam is a very proficient Mechanic and Welder as well as a Private Pilot. Sam is the Idea guy.  He can always think of a better way to make any aviation related  system work better.

Ed Gunter

Ed is the Test Pilot, A&P, AI, Painter, machienist,  and guy who answers to the FAA.  He has spent over 40 years in the aviation field. His job is to convince the FAA and the engineers that what we have really IS a good idea. 

Susan Gunter

Private Pilot, quite good at electrical and avionics.  Fastest parts runner in the west. Call Sue for weather tips, dating and relationship advice, pyscic phenomona, and gardening insight. She is the one who will send you the bill.
